My dogs love routine
My dogs Wolfgang and Ludo are creatures of habit.
They have very regular daily routines, and they stick to them. You can change their routine if needed, they do adjust quite quickly, and fall into the new routine again in a matter of a couple of days.
Currently their routine is roughly as follows:
When they wake up the first thing they do is go to the loo on the grass in our front yard.
Then they have breakfast. After breakfast, another loo break.
Then it's time for second breakfast, which happens when the humans have their breakfast.
Then some time basking in the sun, guarding the perimeter.
Lunch at around 11. The dogs' lunch, that is. When the humans have lunch a bit later the dogs hang around and wait for some tidbits.
After lunch a quick loo break, then a nap.
After napping it's probably time for a walk. Best time of the day!
When we get home from the walk there's a short break before dinner.
After their dinner, they watch the humans have their dinner. They start to wind down and doze in front of the tv.
They go outside for the evening loo break and then they go to bed by themselves. It always amuses me, they don't need to be told or coaxed - after the evening pee they just take themselves off to bed. Both dogs then usually sleep through the night, and wake up around 6:30am and the day starts fresh.
