Inconstant

Listen

I'm not sure why, but since retiring I don’t enjoy listening to things as much. Can’t stand podcasts at all, and detest radio commentary, and only listen to music selectively. I don’t have any music playing in the background, only have it on when I actually want to listen to something. I used to have music on for much of the workday and on weekends, and listened to podcasts during my commute.

Now? Silence. Was I trying to block out noise, my own thoughts? Did it help me concentrate on my work? Not sure. These days I find I enjoy the quiet most.
